Hearing Eric say the words that Pam had been thinking since she met the fairy princess made Pam happier than she’d ever admit. Well, as close to happiness as the woman could possibly be. Eric knew she’d loved him since the day he saved her life, yet he chose to ignore it and treat her like…like a daughter. Even when he’d thought he was going to die, he’d told her she had been ‘born into greatness’. As ever, the darkest thought that had ever entered her mind flittered to her: had Eric turned her purely because she’d forced him into it? Cutting her wrists would lead to only two outcomes; her death or…well, her death.

No. Eric was heartless and cruel enough to have let her die. He’d turned her because he wanted to, not because he felt obliged. At least that’s what Pam told herself – she had a reputation to uphold and asking him outright would show weakness. And Pam fucking hated being weak. Even in her human life, she’d had a tough exterior and a wish to be what Sookie would probably call an ‘ice quaaain’. God, that accent annoyed Pam to the point where she wanted to be the one to rip the bitch’s throat out. Of course, that would lead to an enquiry from the authority and a very pissed Bill Compton. At least she could dream about the blonde’s untimely demise.

Pam had learned long ago to put aside her feelings for Eric. As much as she loved him, she knew he would never allow himself to feel the same way. And, unlike certain people that Pam would refrain from mentioning, Pam wasn’t the type to pant at Eric’s loafers. On the contrary, she accepted his behaviour and got the fuck over it. “Fuck Sookie.” Pam added, to the incredulity of Sookie’s idiotic brother. The Stackhouses were clearly not known for their intellect; Pam wondered what the attraction was. She’d had manlier men for breakfast, but Jason Stackhouse was the bike of Bon Temps; everyone had had a ride. Humans really had no taste – begrudgingly, Pam was willing to admit that Sookie had at least halfway decent taste in men. Halfway because there was nothing special about Bill Compton; he was a bore. Not like her Eric.

Except, Pam reminded herself, he’s not yours. He doesn’t fucking belong to anyone and she wouldn’t have him any other way.
