In their first scene together, they share a heated kiss which ends with a fight, they bicker like an old married couple.

This bit isn't talked about enough. No i'm not referring to the entire scene I'm talking about John leaning into Jack as he says the line captioned above ["you need to go"] as if to kiss him.

Despite the previous rough and tumble- in my eyes that's their love language, John probably still thinks Jack wants him. I mean jack did accept his invitation, which in John's eyes is Jack wanting a reunion(or at least to see his ex-partner) and not just him going to try and "get [John] off his territory" so of course John would go to kiss Jack as they share a drink and talk of old times.
