1. Does your Ryder like their father?
Yes. She knows he loved her in his own weird emotionally-constipated way, and while he wasn’t always around when she wanted him, he was definitely always there for her when she needed him, even if it was only through vidcom. Losing him, especially how she lost him, hurt her a lot.
2. How does your Ryder feel about their sibling?
Andi would literally die for Scott. He is her best friend in the world, and the fact that he spends most of their initial time in Andromeda in a coma kills her inside. She desperately wanted him with her through all of it.
3. If given the chance, do you think your Ryder would be a good Nexus Director?
Oh my god, no. Andi is too much of a bleeding heart; she’d approve like every budget and time-off request ever. She’s good for inspiring people and coming up with off-the-cuff plans, but she is not good at management.
4. What’s your Ryder’s favorite weapon?
Jaal gives her an Angaran firaan after they become official. She was trained to fight with her omni-blade, but really appreciates how much more mobile and efficient it is to stab things when your wrist isn’t locked into the weapon.
5. What’s your Ryder’s fighting style/class? (biotic sniper can be a thing!)
Andi’s fighting style is stealth sabotage and assassination, basically. She sneaks in and disables security systems, hacks enemy shields, and takes out targets while they’re distracted by the big guns on her team. She knows a tiny bit of biotics, mostly only enough to unleash a nova blast if she gets hemmed in. Her class is operative/infiltrator.
6. Does your Ryder get along with Tann, Addison, Kandros or Kesh?
Andi adores Kesh and her lack of political bullshit. She respects Kandros, but doesn’t always agree with his more expedient decisions. Addison is like an antagonistic mom to her, they don’t really get along but there’s a vague mutual respect for the difficulty of each other’s jobs. She Does Not Like Tann, and takes every opportunity to ride his bureaucratic ass.
7. Is your Ryder good at driving the Nomad?
Andi is amazing at testing the Nomad’s limitations and pushing it to climb new and exciting cliff faces, much to the utter dismay of her team and Gil’s eternal consternation. There have been more than a couple broken axles from her deciding that a straight path is the most efficient way to get where they need to be.
8. What is the one Pathfinder task that your Ryder hates?
Andi hates dealing with bureaucratic bullshit and having to report and justify her actions to Nexus leadership. She thinks if they wanna fight with her on her decisions, they should be on the field with her when shit goes down.
9. What does your Ryder enjoy about being a Pathfinder?
She loves exploring new planets and meeting new people. She likes that she really has a chance to make a difference for everyone, including the Angara.
10. How does your Ryder feel about the memories they unlocked?
Andi is really, really mad at her dad for what he did. She doesn’t think it was fair to her or Scott that they had go through burying their mom only to find out she’s alive. And she really doesn’t think it was fair to their mom, especially because there’s no guarantee a cure will be found in their lifetimes and then their mom will be left all alone in a strange galaxy with strange people. She really Did Not Approve, and given half a chance, would punch her dad in the face for that stunt.
11. Does your Ryder consider SAM a friend/sibling/…?
SAM is her partner, friend, and most trusted confidante. Andi would be totally lost without him.
12. What is your Ryder’s favorite location in Andromeda?
The springs on Kadara. She loves the bright colors of the water pools, and the mountainous landscape. It reminds her the most of their family home on Earth. (Sorry, Jaal)
13. If your Ryder could give one gift to their LI (if there is one), what would they give?
She wants to find out when Jaal’s birthday is from his mom (assuming Angara celebrate that sort of thing, and if they don’t GUESS WHAT MILKY WAY TRADITION YOU’RE LEARNING TODAY) and then surprise him with one of those stupid expensive giant fruits from the marketplace on Aya.
14. How does your Ryder feel about the fight between Kallo and Gil?
She’s very sympathetic towards Kallo’s feelings, but also thinks that if Gil can improve the ship’s functions, he should be allowed to do so. She ends up siding with Gil.
15. What does your Ryder think about Shepard?
I… have to get back to you on this one. :’D I don’t wanna read a Shepard wiki, I’d like to play the games myself.
16. Does your Ryder like the other Pathfinders?
The entire Pathfinder set was replaced during her tenure. She didn’t know Macen, but thinks she’d have liked him. She definitely likes Avitus, and is glad she was able to give him new purpose. She really didn’t like Sarissa and is much happier with Vederia as Asari Pathfinder. She thinks if she’s managed to hash it out so well, Vederia will be great. She did respect Raeka a lot in the short time she knew the Salarian, and regrets being unable to save her, but she also thinks Hayjer will do just fine as Pathfinder. When she’s feeling really contemplative, she thinks it might be for the best that the entire team was forged anew in Andromeda because Milky Way tactics clearly didn’t start them off well.
17. What is the one lesson your Ryder learned in Andromeda?
It killed her inside to learn this, but you can’t always save everyone. You just have to do your best to mitigate losses, but accept the ones that happen and try not to let it happen again. What happened on the Archon’s ship made her absolutely miserable.
18. What is the hardest thing your Ryder had to do in their life?
Become Pathfinder. She definitely wasn’t ready to do it at the cost of her dad and without her brother. She wasn’t trained for any of this, she was trained to hack shit and provide security to scientists. Her crew and their various backgrounds and advice were total lifesavers for her sanity.
19. Does your Ryder like memes?
Andi is meme queen of the Heleus Cluster. The crew board is awash with her nonsense. Occasionally they’re forwarded to the entire Nexus because why not? (especially if it might piss off Tann)
20. Which song would represent your Ryder well?
oh my god I can’t decide, I could probably make a fucking playlist. I’ll come back to this one.
