On the Horizon || Jackson

Emery’s presence had been rather scarce as of late. Aside from mandatory meetings and participation in the Initiative assault, he’d been avoiding much of the Syndicate for a few weeks now. Becoming more anti-social, staying in more, seemingly brooding. With Bruno’s loss still fresh, he couldn’t quite handle what happened during his encounter with Gwen. The sudden gut-wrenching feeling that stopped him in his tracks, tilted his world on its axis, threw him for a loop. He’d kept it to himself, unsure what to do. He knew she’d survive the assault beforehand, the sense had been a ways off - a several months at least. But the fact of the matter was, he hadn’t said anything.
It was a double-edged sword regardless of the choice he’d make. Tell or not tell - and who? Rhys had ultimately been the first one he confided in about it just the other night. It was then that he decided he had to talk to Jackson. The Selvaggio sibling he trusted the most, had spent the most amount of time with. Perhaps he’d been avoiding them since Bruno was killed. He hadn’t given it much direct thought, finding it easier and better on his sanity to bury it along with most everything else.
That evening though he found himself pacing the grounds just outside the Estate. He’d come over unannounced after taking a long bike ride along a stretch of the PCH for the view. Help get his thoughts straightened out. And after he’d exhausted himself somewhat, he finally went inside to seek Jackson out.
