okay so tonight during once and for all while kath was reading the newsies banner out loud, jacobs davey was mouthing the words along with her like davey is just making sure kath gets it right and oh my god

okay but i know it's weird to have much less tactile jack kelly with the tour.

however, i think we may have instead gained selectively tactile davey and i am incredibly okay with that. 

like davey who is so apart/just with les at the beginning, and stays kind of in his own space for most of act 1, and then by act 2, is much more physically affectionate in quiet ways and you can really just see the character change from feeling alone and outside and anxious to gaining this sense of himself and of the people around him and how he fits in and becoming comfortable enough to show those people that he is comfortable, and that he does feel like he's found a place and.

somehow last night i noticed this and it just gives me so much appreciation for jacobs davey because he is clearly taking all of this anxiety, etc., that underlies davey's character and bringing it to the forefront so that when it starts to change, when davey puts his hand on jack's back when jack is doubting them before watch what happens reprise, or when he's linked hands or arms with katherine after that scene, it really has meaning 

okay that was so much longer than i intended but. think about this. i am really actually very excited about it and i hope he doesn't change what he's doing because it's perfect.

what does "tarantulas is the new sandstorms" mean? i'm so confused what was sandstorms???

haha oops i guess that is obtuse - i should probably not write long text posts at 2am?

in the finale, usually davey says 'what's santa fe got that new york ain't? sandstorms?' but jacob's davey says 'tarantulas' instead of 'sandstorms'. 

it's the new thing apparently and it's great
