Hearing the soft buzz of the midmorning crowd in the coffee shop had become part of Jacqueline’s routine. It was an ever-changing routine — which she loved. The versitality of her life at that point, the fact that she could make any sort of decisions ( within reason, of course ) and there were no fatal consequences. Even after months of living in witness protection, that feeling would never get old.
Jac was so into a routine, in fact, that she hardly even reacted when she nearly bumped someone over. Speaking of consequences, the collusion definitely would’ve had a few hot-coffee-spilling consequences. There was a police smile on Jac’s face, only for a brief second before a half-assed apology brushed past her lips. “Sorry,” she spoke softly, her hand making it’s way to the other’s forearm as if she was steadying the woman. It promptly fell back down to her side, and that’s when she noticed the slightly odd expression on the blonde’s face. “You alright?”

JACKIE: I'd only planned on adopting one cat but I saw how close he was to this little lady and I couldn't separate them.

JACKIE: One of the kids I work with told me yesterday that it's a good thing I work with little kids, because if I worked with teenagers, no one would know since I'm so short they'd think I'm one of them.
JACKIE: Is this what people call "feeling attacked"?
The woman who delivered my food tonight looked at me like a crazy person when I told her Panera was my go-to comfort food when I’m sick. Not really food that I think will help, but do you know when you just have no energy and there’s always that one thing that sounds heavenly? That’s been me with Panera for the last two years now. Besides, I’m convinced broccoli and cheddar soup is better for the soul than chicken noodle could ever be.
On a different note, everyone should use this as a warning to schedule their flu shot. I don’t have the flu, but if I’m feeling miserable just from a cold, I don’t want to take that risk.

BIO
(trigger warnings for child abuse, attempted murder, and PTSD)
The first eight years of Jackie’s life are something she tries not to think about; she considers her life as it is not to have started when she was adopted by the Hummels. Prior to that, she was raised in a physically and emotionally abusive environment by her biological parents, up until the point where her father attempted to murder her mother. Following the court trial that resulted in him being sent to prison, her mother put all the blame on Jackie for contacting the police and telling them the truth not only about the incident, but about the longterm abuse that preceded it. Pearl Vang signed away her parental rights, and Jackie found herself in the foster care system for a brief amount of time before being adopted by the Hummels. It took time for her to trust them, but eventually, Jackie began to question how she got so lucky as to be a part of their family. They truly are the most important part of her, even if she isn’t always the best as showing it. Because of her childhood, she has a lot of problems in regards to anxiety and fear, and was recently diagnosed with PTSD that she has yet to tell her family about. Jackie’s rightfully suspicious of most people she comes across outside of her family, which is something she knows she needs to work on but is struggling to. She works as a kindergarten teacher and absolutely loves her job; she wants to help make the world a better place, and figures that the best way to do that is staring with children and making sure they can reach their full potential.
