Y'all know I love clowning on Jacques-Louis David but I was randomly looking at the Convention minutes from the day after Marat's murder and this part made me really emotional. It's like straight out of a movie.
(Lepeletier is a conventionnel who was murdered for voting for Louis' death. The translation should be painting OF Lepeletier instead of BY)
You know what? David stuck to his word and proceeded to immortalize Marat in one of the most iconic paintings in history. He did a good job.
