Systember '25 | Day 25: Culture
[Long post: full meaning under the cut]
In many Asian cultures, people (most commonly women, in our experience) wear these jade bangles — and generally, never take them off. They're said to bring good luck and protect their wearer. The jade is said to develop a deeper, richer colour after years on one's (usually non-dominant) wrist. If it breaks, it's done its job to protect you. You can attach clasps to the pieces if you'd like to wear it again.
We're... a little conflicted on this tradition.
I’d rather be a messy little hippie playing in the dirt than being a person of society today, but money is calling my name and I must answer!
Well, I got the bangle on. Now to see if I can ever remove it. If not, it’ll be there for a long time.

From this. Thanks so much to @goalissoul on Twitter a.k.a. @edge-office-no2 on Tumblr for providing the reference photo (one of several)!
I loved the blue palette with its pops of pink and yellow. The glittery bass was difficult to reproduce in watercolor, but it’s just so cool so I took my time. Adam was performing in the rain, but I took out all the raindrops. :)
The original Turquoise Adam is a 10″x10″ watercolor, and you can find it along with my other U2 prints here. Also I have a Patreon account if you’d like to support my videos and various fandom activities (thank you!).
