Step One: Cleansing + Hydrating
- Remove any makeup (i use micellar water)
- I cleanse my skin with the 'cosmic dew cleaser' and on days i start to break out i use the Cera Ve SA cleanser.
- I apply a snail mucin serum first and them i layer the 'holy hydration!' serum by E.L.F. on top.
Step Two: Moisturizer + Rose quartz roller
- I moisturize with my all time favorite Neutrogena 'hydro boost' water gel!
- On some nights i do like to ice my face so i do that before that. i put my rose quartz roller in the freezer and it help a lot with de-puffing!
Do's and Don'ts :
- Dont slug for the love of god. I know it supposedly has a lot of good qualities for you skin, but it'll clog your pores.
- Do invest in toners!

Hi can I ask about Gua Sha routine and how you can incorporate it into our daily routine. As someone who's in late teens it's difficult to set time for it. Any suggestions??
I mainly use Gua Sha for jawline and neck. Can we do it before we bath or should it be done after only? So I really need to use a face oil or any serum is enough? Can you tell me please?
Thank you
Hi, hope you are doing well. I will be answering one question at a time.
It may be long but it is all useful information.
Q1: How to incorporate Gua Sha routine it into our daily routine?
A: I will introduce you to a new concept that I use myself which is called habit stacking. You will probably use it for the rest of your life.
Habit stacking is one of the best ways to build a new habit. Basically, you need to identify a current habit you already do each day and then stack your new behavior on top.
After doing your current habit, you will immediately do your new habit afterwards.
In Practice: Find a habit you do everyday. ex: brushing your teeth or skincare routine.
From now on after you brush your teeth you will immediatly do your guasha routine. Or after skincare you would do your guasha routine.
For this to work, your guasha tools need to be VISIBLE and CLOSE to to your toothbrush or skincare products. This way you will rarely forget.
If you don't have a daily routine simply set an alarm for same time everyday. Choose a time when you are free and no one will bother you.

Q2: Can we do it before we bath or should it be done after only?
It is my understanding that Guasha is used mainly for massage and increasing blood circulation.
But because it helps to increase absorption of products applied to the skin I suggest doing it with a clean face after applying your skincare products.
If you apply too much force by accident you can cut your skin and if you have a dirty face the chances of bacteria and infection increase. So a clean face is always better.

Q3: So I really need to use a face oil or any serum is enough?
You NEED a face oil. Your skin should be well moisturized for the tool to work without causing any irritation or cuts.
About Serums: Serums are skincare products that are designed to deliver high concentrations of specific active ingredients to the skin.
Serums are treatment products to treat specific skin conditions.
You probably saw many people doing guasha after using a serum because they have a skin condition and apply the serum to treat it. For the serum to have better results, they use guasha for better absorption.
You are very young, you don't need a serum unless your dermatologist recommends you. Don't go with the flow on this. It can damage your skin health.
Important:
I know skincare routine are very in style these days but they are mostly promoted by people 7 years older than you.
You might not believe me but until you are 21-25 years old you don't need any of the products they are promoting to you. Using them can actually damage your young firm skin. Remember they are trying to look your age.
Do this instead:
1. Identify your skin type. - read this post on my blog - here
2. Do this 3 step skincare and body care routine for soft, healthy skin. - read this post on my blog - here
Choose your cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen according to your skin type. Remove makeup before bed. If you have dry skin add a toner to you skincare routine. And you are good to go.
Reminder:
Gua sha has shown to have health effects but it has not been proven to have cosmetic effects of lifting and sculpting.
It is always best to check with your doctor first to see if you are healthy enough for Gua Sha. I leave you some best practices if you choose to continue:
Gua Sha should not cause pain during or after the treatment.
It can cause bruising if you apply too much force.
Disinfect you gua sha between uses to avoid infections.
Use a Gua Sha Tool with smooth edges.
It can cause hyperpigmentation on dark skin. Don't apply too much force.
Hope I answered your questions.
