   hotaru’s words weren’t fully comprehended , the idea that hoshi had been in the wrong so thoroughly embedded in her psyche that this one instance , this one conversation , wouldn’t simply undo all that she’d come to believe . it would likely take years for her to fully accept that her parents where awful people , not worth her time , but this was a start  ----  one that she could thank her friend for down the line.

   calmed fully now hoshi did consider the others question , did she really need their pride  ?  or was it something she simply longed to have returned to her  ?  deep down she knew she was clinging so desperately to the idea she could get them back somehow ,  &&  the question made her see the flaw in her own logic . it was comfort . she wanted the comfort of her parents pride in her , it was still something she’d fight tooth && nail to grasp . she knew it wasn’t a necessity , that she could live without it  ----  but would she be happy, satisfied  ?

   ❝  i  ----  i ...  ❞  but she wasn’t ready to admit that to herself, the intensity of her want  ----  it felt like something necessary to survive . but this was a start , a start at unraveling what her parents had done to her . despite the doubt  &&  confusion swirling about in her head , she felt relieved.

    ❝  wow  !!  you're so cute  !!  ❞  taking a step around to aimieru's front , himiko looked her up  &&  down  ----  golden hues noting the girls outfit  &&  accessories through pink heart shaped sunglasses . that day she'd decided to wear a pink cardigan  &&  tan skinny jeans  ----  a step away from her usual fashion choices , but she liked to spice things up from time to time  (  plus it was best if she wasn't as recognizable  )  .

    ❝  ----  !!  ❞  she flinches , eyes widening  (  one hidden beneath her patch  )  for a split moment , shoulders tensing visibly for even less than that . for a second she's startled by her own reaction , the bolt of ice having shot down her spine ebbing away after having settled in her stomach , she hasn’t flinched in years  (  when it came to the paranormal  )  ----  a slight, displeased frown tugging at her lips as she resists the urge to throw a glare at the spirit that had let out a piercing shriek in her ear . her headphones remain around her neck , reminding her of how unprepared she'd been  (  she always had to be prepared , as she was always reminded  ----  the dead never fall silent  )  .

    moving to slip the headphones over her ears she notices the other , the questioning look they're sending her  ----  &&  she realizes it's too late ,  she's made eye contact ,  ❝  ...  ❞
