Buncha Jade redesigns I did. Starting from the darkest color palette-wise from the left to the lightest. Was really tricky trynna balance the signature quantum purple with jade greens. Imo, the og jade design feels like they pushed her quantum-ness over her literal cornerstone which left her just looking like a sexy tube of Elmer’s glue. Also her lack of connection to jade the cornerstone really feels like a letdown. It makes sense for Aventurine to style himself more like a peacock than his cornerstone because he only became a stone heart for survival. He doesn’t believe in the mission, blah, blah but Jade is literally 2nd in command and the only one who has direct communication to Diamond. Why’s she so neon purple?

Also the butterflies all over her design really takes away from the snake theming. Either pick one or drop it. I saw someone speculating the butterflies might be there to represent change. Wether it’s the way she acts (putting on a kind front to drop people’s guards before wringing them dry, her relationship with Topaz, etc) or how she acts as a catalyst for change (her deals via the Bonajade Exchange and role as an IPC agent). But snakes are also a symbol of transformation too?? So why couldn’t they have just gone harder with the snake theming?? Idk

The daughter of an affluent family, Eve was once a frail, sickly woman confined to bed for most of her waking hours. Her ailment was peculiar, and even the best doctors across the galaxy could not find a cure. Her father and mother begged their contacts at the Intelligentsia Guild to assist them and their daughter, but their pleas fell on deaf ears. After all, there was no profit to be made from rare diseases. An unearthly creature in the form of a snake visited a sickly Eve in the dead of the night. Her skin was pale and her breaths shallow. Her soul hung by the thinnest of threads, savoring its last moments before it fell into the abyssal void of death. The creature offered Eve her one desire: the gift of life. In return, she would be bound to fulfill the desires of others, no matter the cost. Eve accepted.

Oxygen was once a commodity on Jelena’s planet, and her family couldn’t afford it. The best they could do was flimsy masks, and her parents made a difficult choice to ensure their daughter could grow up breathing clean air. Jelena was contracted as a servant for the governor’s household at the age of eight. A year later, her parents died in a devastating industrial accident when a building collapsed. The IPC arrived two years afterwards.
