Oh human, how ignorant you are;

How utterly insignificant you are in the universe, and how infinitesimally small.

There is a sun and a moon out there, and millions upon millions of stars and nebulas;

and still, your delusional self is under the impression that all is created just for you.

My love, why is it that there’s always a journey between us!

Being apart is a grave, unpardonable sin.

My love, why is it that there’s always high seas between us!

Whenever I cross one sea, I find that another has been dug!

ده البعد ذنب كبير لا يُغتفر

Beware of sorrows, and let them pass unhindered.

حاسب علي رقابيك من حبلها

راح تنتهي و لابد راح تنتهي

I am a night owl, always out and about.

One night, on my way home in the dark, I saw

Fear... as if it’s a dog blocking my way.

I wanted to kill it, but I was too afraid to do it.

سهير ليالي وياما لفيت وطفت

وف ليله راجع في الضلام قمت شفت

الخوف … كأنه كلب سد الطريق

وكنت عاوز أقتله .. بس خفت

Despair and perseverance are choices you can freely make.

Life will go on whether or not you despair.

I tasted both and was astonished to find,

that perseverance is as bitter as despair.

as if you were drowning and desperately looking for deliverance;

God is beautiful,knowledgeable, gracious and merciful.

If you cultivate His qualities in yourself, you shall create Him.

بحث الغريق عن أي شيء ينجده

How remorseful to behold empty hearts,

that has neither love, nor hate, nor much else.

My heart, you’re even free of sadness.

No matter, one day you shall get your fill.

لا محبة فيها ولا كراهة ولا
