Just a fading memory. 26/5/2020 We celebrated the second day of Eid, under the Covid Lockdown, by taking the kids “adventuring” to the ruins of Gurdwara Rori Sahab, just east Jahman. You might recognise this spot if you have seen the episode on Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed NH in the PTV series Nishan-e-Haider. This structure was briefly shown as a command post in it, which was a bit inaccurate, since it was already overrun by the Indian Army on the 6th/7th September, 1965. The spot where Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed NH embraced shahadat in 1965, marked with a fitting memorial, just left of Barki Road along the BRB Canal, was also one of my kids’ favourite spots to visit during the lockdown due to it’s isolation. We always offer Fatiha for the Shuhada for our wars whenever we visit. But, soon this area will also become urbanised, much to my dismay. #Jahman #GurdwaraRoriSahab #1965War (at Jahman, Punjab, Pakistan) https://www.instagram.com/p/CfsOvBSKHev/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
