You hang me up, unfinished
With the better part of me no longer mine

Do jamie and chinadoll have actual color pallets? I REALLY REALLY wanna draw jamie but idk what any of his colors are
(IDs in alt text)
I would've waited until morning, but I'm avoiding sleep paralysis hahaha
China's face plate was inspired by a stylized illustration of a noh mask, though that's not what it is in-universe (as noh masks are generally wood, not porcelain, afaik). Her silver plating is probably shinier than it looks here with the flat colors, not chrome but maybe closer to The Spine.
Jaime's ear stud is plain silver, it's just too small for me to color in in most pictures. He always wears the silver chain.
You can give them different clothes, but they generally both stick to the same styles-- fancy and elegant for China, casual or work-wear for Jaime.

[Panel 1: Jaime rolls his eyes, quirking an eyebrow as he says, "It really doesn't matter what you figure out. You'll be dead in ten minutes anyway."]
[Panel 2: Riker notices a small cloud of smoke hovering by the door frame. Jaime continues speaking from off screen: "Either the booby trap trips and you liquefy, or--"]
[Panel 3: Riker looks back to Jaime and says, "Th-that's how Locksmith paid you off? Me getting a nasty death?"]
[Panel 4: Jaime leans against a second workbench across from the one that Riker is handcuffed to. The Skull can just barely be seen, still unconscious on the table Riker is handcuffed to. Jaime says, "I thought it'd be poetic. But frankly, for the amount of work I put in, I should've made him sweeten the deal--"]
[Panel 5: Jaime raises his brows in surprise as Riker says, from off screen, "T-- Take me back."]

[Panel 1: Shot of Riker's hands handcuffed around the leg of a worktable. No text.]
[Panel 2: Riker looking up in distress while The Skull, only partially in frame, is still laid out on the worktable. Jaime says from off screen, "So this is the mighty Skull, huh? Probably real scary when he's awake."]
[Panel 3: Riker watches as Jaime removes a three-armed device from a backpack set down on the worktable by The Skull's feet. Riker asks, "Jaime, what the hell is that thing?" Jaime responds, "As my client likes to call it: 'insurance.' It turns the Core's power inside out, burns out the robot's systems so they can't be repaired. Not bad work, given my time constraints."]
Hey locksmith….Whatcha doing looking at those blueprints?? You’re not doing anything…suspicion, aintcha? Cause that’s baaaadddddd-
[ID: Two digitally sketched panels]
[Panel 1: Jaime sitting at a desk and smoking a cigarette, looking at something clawed looming just in the right of frame. Locksmith narrates, "… Me? Why…"]
[Panel 2: Reversed shot, now over Jaime's shoulder. We can see the clawed object is a device with three claws around a circular portion, partially disassembled with wires and bobs and bits sticking out of it. Leaning against the peg board on the wall next to the device is a sheet of notes with a sketch of The Skull's chest and outer Core. Locksmith continues, "… I haven't done a thing with them." End ID]

Well Riker did help you Jack so even if it is a fear maybe thats all it is and he just needs to talk to you now that the amplifier has been taken out
[Four digitally sketched panels.]
[Panel 1: The Jack lifts a hand thoughtfully to his chin, index finger slightly uncurled. He says, "I suppose you're right... We only had a few minutes to talk before the others burst in, and those were mostly spent checking how I was functioning."]
[Panel 2: The Jack looks off to the left, holding his hands up and lacing the fingers of both hands together. He says, "It would be nice to just talk to Mr. Szarka. It's been so long since I could--" From offpanel, a voice asks, "'Szarka'?"]
[Panel 3: The Jack looks up in surprise to see Jaime Huron standing in front of him, glaring. Jaime has a tube-shaped case on a sling hung on his back, holding the strap with one hand while the other is balled into a fist at his side.]
[Panel 4: Close up of Jaime narrowing his eyes and frowning. He says, "So you're Locksmith's friend... You know Riker?" End ID]

Was Riker ever happy with Jamie?
Riker: Yeah. Yeah, at first. I mean, when we first met, I didn't even know I was queer. He was the one who showed me it was alright, that a lightning bolt wasn't going to strike me dead for kissing a guy and liking it. And when it was just the two of us, I felt... safe. Cared for. ... Worth something. If I'd stayed, I could have been a kept man.
Riker: Not a bad trap, huh? If he hadn't started hitting me and my friends, I might've never realized he was pulling a noose around my neck. And even then, I was almost more scared of leaving than I was of staying. I knew he'd hurt me bad if he caught up to me-- and I was right-- but he might've hurt me just as bad for breaking some BS rule if I stayed. Getting away was my only shot at not getting my neck wrung eventually.
Riker: I guess 'eventually' catches up to all of us.

[Panel 1: Narrative text in the top left corner reads: "Some time ago, elsewhere..." In the frame, Jaime steps through a door, hand still on the handle, looking reserved and saying, "You wanted to see me, Ms. China?"]
[Panel 2: Ms. Chinadoll, sitting on a coach with one arm slung over the back and the other hand holding a cigarette holding. She says, "Jaime, sweetheart~ You never fail to please. Yes, I want to introduce you to my friend--"]
[Panel 3: Ms Chinadoll's hand gestures, the rest of her offscreen, to Locksmith, who sits near her, smiling. Ms. Chinadoll finishes, saying, "-- Locksmith." Locksmith says, "A pleasure, my good fellow."]
[Panel 4: Jaime, unenthused, takes Locksmith's hand to shake. Jaime says, "Yeah... Ms. China said you wanted me for some work?" Locksmith says, "Ha! I appreciate your prudency."]
