In Elementary 2x12 'The Diabolical Kind', Moriarty says to Joan:
"It's what you crave, is it not? Acknowledgement from a superior mind? Evidence that you matter? Why else pursue a partnership with a man like Sherlock?"
I've always found it quite heartbreaking that the woman Sherlock describes as the 'great love' of his life can't seem to understand why Joan would want to spend time with him unless it's for personal gain.
Contrast that with Joan in 3x18 'The View from Olympus':
"I knew it was only a matter of time before one of these women fell in love with you"
Joan knows and cares about Sherlock, and she believes wholeheartedly that he is loveable, that others can care about him just as much as she does.
Sherlock and Joan mean so much to me. I'm so glad they found each other. QPR of all time.
Mate, you 2 really need to consider installing some surveillance around 221b, even a smart doorbell works. It’s such a low level mistake that Jim’s girl got in repeatedly because there was no real time surveillance. It starts to look like all you adults are just humouring her little crime fantasies now, which could’ve been easily prevented or solved. Solid cyber security is quite difficult to tamper with, child prodigy or not, way harder than the popular culture believes, simply because the process takes time. You’ll know someone’s tampering with it the moment she starts probing.
If I were truly concerned about her, I would have taken action by now.
Yes, she’s skilled at bypassing security systems—no one’s denying that. But what has she actually accomplished? Kidnapped a few unsuspecting civilians? (Let’s be honest, Anderson barely counts as one.)
Did it ever cross your mind that maybe Mycroft let himself be kidnapped just for one of his boring little chats with her?
She’s wasted a lot of breath making threats. Ambitious, maybe—but she doesn’t have her father’s criminal determination. @ccjimmoriarty

“As if men had the monopoly on murder.”
Friend: What are you doing?
Me: Shh! You’re interrupting the writing process.
Friend:
Friend: You’re just watching lesbian scenes from TV shows.
Me: Do you have anything against RootxShaw/MazexEve/JoanxMoriarty?
Friend: Joan and Moriarty have just one scene together.
Me: HOW DARE YOU.
Summary: A collection of short essays examining female characters in media and literature, with frequent asides discussing modern fandom, intersectional feminism, and real-life inspirational women. Subjects chosen by author, but requests are welcome!
Discussion the reinvention of a reinvented classic character and how returning to the source material can sometimes feel fresher than any ‘hot take’.
moriarty just took joan on a date at a fancy restaurant and honestly my little gay foe yay loving heart grew three sizes today
