An introduction to me
For those of you who have never visited my other blog, Jaimiesam (link will be added when it’s back up and running), I’m Jaimie :) I’m in university, studying English and Film, and I blog mainly about books and movies (there seems to be a correlation...)
Anyways, I love anything fantasy, fiction, sci-fi, time-travel, historical fiction, contemporary (depending on my mood) and more. I am a voracious reader, constantly found with a book in my hands, and usually a stack found next to my bed. I’m currently reading A Storm of Swords by George R. R. Martin, so I’m fairly behind on the whole Game of Thrones thing (I’m reading a book, then watching the corresponding season), but I do love the series so far. I’m also reading The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall which is a fun YA mystery novel, and The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz. I’m reading that for my english course, but it’s a really interesting book.
I also adore films. I think there’s something magic about a good book or film that can transport you to a different world, and allow you to live a different life for 400 pages, or 2 hours. I watch a lot of the same genres as I read. I’ve just seen La La Land by Damien Chazelle, and it was so fantastic. I’ll probably write a review in the coming weeks for it. It’s definitely now up there with my favourite films.
My favourite favourite favourite is of course Harry Potter. I can’t remember a time of my life that didn’t involve Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I’m a proud Ravenclaw (with some Slytherin tendencies, I must admit) and my knowledge of the series knows no bounds.
I also love to cook and bake, despite a long list of allergies. I don’t let them get in the way though, and simply enjoy adjusting recipes to suit my diet. I love fashion and makeup, and experimenting with different outfits and looks (I’m not too adventurous, but I step out of my comfort zone every now and then) - but I don’t tend to blog about that really...
Anyways, I hope you’ve enjoyed this quick intro, and learned a bit more about me. I’ll hopefully be posting soon, including a review of Voyager (the third book in the Outlander series) that I’ll be putting up next. Hope you visit my blog again soon!
