Hi love you said you wanted prompts so here goes:

Tom and Jake with the word ‘studying’.

Tom's tail flicked with irritation as he tried to hurry through the homework he had brought over to his dads'.

Deciding to help him out, Jake took a seat next to him on the couch. He looked over at what it was.

“Trouble with music?” Jake had missed out on most of the dedicated music classes, but he hoped what he remembered from them would be useful.

“Yeah!” Tom looked up at Jake. “I am supposed to put the letter by the note. But I don't remember how to.”

He leaned back against the couch.

“How am I ever going to be a musician like this!?” Tom pouted.

Definitely something Jake could help with at least. “You'll get there.” He checked the clef and was relieved it was the one he remembered. “Face in the space and every good boy deserves fudge, right?”

Tom gave him a baffled look. “Huh?”

“That's how I learned it.”

It had only been a few years. Less than ten. The way they taught it couldn't have changed that quickly, could it?

Jake explained. “The letters in the spaces between the bars going up spell out face. And the bars going up have the first letters for every good boy deserves fudge.”

“Oh.” Tom scrunched up his face. “That would have been good to know.”

“Anything else you need help with?”

“No.” Tom tilted his head as he reconsidered. “Yes.”

Jake smiled. “What do you need help with?”

“We're doing a family tree project. How do I add Yolanda and Albert?“

Jake blinked. That was a very good question.

“I think we might need to ask Pops or Dad that.”
