Jake stirred under the warm light of the sun as his maiden pulled the curtains open. She stood bare, facing the glass doors to the balcony. “What are you doing?” his tone was full of sleep, as well as his eyes, in which he softly caressed with a hand. The young girl turned from her reflection in the glass, giving Jake a nice sight of her perfectly limber body. She combed a pale hand through dark hair and knelled up onto the bed. His kisses were still on her fair skin, bruising. “I like to see the sights,” she cooed, getting comfortable by his side. “I like to see the sights, too,” his eyes on her lips let her know exactly what sights he were referring to. “You’re bad,” she smiled, and he replied, “You have no idea.” His hand slid beneath his pillow, feeling for the object of his desire. “You know, the first time I saw you, I thought, ‘Wow- this girl is beautiful.’ My second thought was, ‘I can’t believe I have to kill her.’” The girl sat up, confusion taking beauty in her eyes. She was even whiter than before, except the pink in her cheeks that darkened by the second. “Why must you kid? That’s not funny,” the girl was already anticipating her exit as she collected her garments from the bed and floor. “I wasn’t trying to be funny. It’s not like this is exactly fun for me.” Jake slid from the bed in just his boxers, a knife drawn from beneath the purple silk pillow. “Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live,” tears stung the man’s eyes as he swiftly moved in front of the door she sprinted toward. “Witch? Are you mad? You said you were, too, a witch. You showed me.” The girl was as confused as ever as she stared wild with panic. “I’m sorry,” Jake whispered, stepping closer. The witch attempted to stop him with her magic but it didn’t work, Jake continued to advance. “What happened to my power?” Jake’s eyes flitted to the wine glasses on the table. “Just a little elixir to repress your magic. You consumed so much of it,” he shook his head, “I really am sorry, but this is my initiation” The blade plunged into her side; he kept her up, against him, hugging her body to his as his tears rolled down her ivory shoulder. “Your death won’t be in vain.”
Jake stirred under the cold light of the moon. His face still healing from his fight with Nick. He’d done so much bad, not even the repenting of his sins would save his soul. Nick reminded him of that, as did his nightmares. He had just hoped that returning home and joining the circle would account for something good. However, he was ostracized and with fair reason. But that didn’t mean he was going to give up. To join the True Believers, Jake had to do a lot of questionable things, a lot of bad. He was prepared to do whatever it takes now to be on the other side. He just needed one big grand gesture, for each of the circle members. Whether that be to, help Faye with her magic, save Nick from his self-destruction, look after Cassie, make amends with Adam and pay back his father for the money he stole, reach out to Melissa, and help Diana through all the hardships she’d been facing, trying to balance being a teenager and a witch.
Because, he was unable to sleep, Jake figured he’d start righting his wrongs, now. However, something else happened. He couldn’t have staged this even if he wanted to – as he made his way over to the abandon house the circle usually met up at, Jake ran into a couple of teenagers ransacking the place. “Hey! What the hell do you think you’re doing?!” The three boys took off, charging through Jake but he was able to grab a hold of the girl and throw her up against the wall. When she reached for his arms to break free, he noticed a scar on her palm. Having him in shock benefited the girl as his mind drifted and she kneed him in the groin before taking off in trail of her brothers. What the hell were they looking for? and why did they run? Jake decided to clean the place up and keep this from the circle. He may have just found his one big gesture. He knew of a threat and if he took care of it, he’d win back their trust. However, before he could even finish fixing the place, someone walked back in.
