Jake Hager has been with AEW since October 2, 2019, but has not participated in any bouts since. Hager has a protective role in the Inner Circle and must secure his winning streak on the MMA side. But now the company has announced its first match!
Indeed, Jake Hager will face Dustin Rhodes at the PPV Revolution on February 29 for his first official match at the AEW. Dustin won a match against Sammy Guevara on February 12 at Dynamite and then challenged Hager for a match. He provoked it by claiming that he was only there to collect his check at the end of the month.
Hager did not respond to the challenge, but the AEW directors formalized the match an hour later by confirming it for the PPV. So we will have Hager's reaction next week to Dynamite as he has to prepare for this first match in the AEW ring.
"Are you ever gonna step into the ring? Or are you gonna keep collecting a paycheck?" - @dustinrhodes.
