“I have a right to be angry.”
“You don’t have any right,” Marley started, turning her back on jake and running a hand through her hair. The very thought of him being near her, even now, was driving her crazy. Even more so now with the accusations he was throwing in her direction. “We’re just friends. And sure, maybe we could be friends that become more, but that has nothing to do with you. Nothing.” Inhaling, the brunette closed her eyes before turning back on her supposed best friend.
“It could’ve been us, you know that right? you could’ve been the one holding my hand in the hallway, or taking me to breadstix. If you didn’t let your stupid ego get in the way.” Pushing him aside so that she could now pass out of the corner he had backed her into, Marley grabbed her bag from the floor and tossed it over her shoulder. “you don’t get to decide when you can and cannot just suddenly have feelings for me. That’s not fair.”
