30 Day MMA - Day 21: Most Underrated Fighter
Jake Shields. In my opinion, he is the most underrated fighter in the UFC. (I'm not considering fighters from other MMA promotions because other promotions are, themselves, pretty underrated. So I'm not even going to go there) Shields has a rather unique and effective technique, what he calls American Jiu-Jitsu, and he's a very skilled and well-rounded fighter. Somehow he doesn't make a lot of headlines, but this guy has serious fucking talent. He has gotten a bit of attention (though not nearly as much as he deserves) after defeating Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 144 in Japan, so hopefully this is a sign that he'll start to get some substantial recognition for all of his hard work.
I know Shields won but I wasn't impressed with his performance
