How are you enjoying your job at the camp so far?

It’s had its ups and downs, but I’ve really been enjoying it a lot! I love the woods and small lakeside towns like Sleepy Peak, and to be able to spend all summer here is just wonderful!

I may not interact with your blog much but I love seeing your posts and just seeing ocs in the tag makes me happy. Gives me inspiration and the courage to make my own. We all support each other here and I'm very thankful for that.

I’m glad that you like what I do here, that means a lot to me!! And you’re absolutely right, the camp camp community is wonderful and supportive and it’s absolutely something to be thankful for! I’ve met so many incredible people since I started working here and my life has been made richer by each and every one of you <3 <3 <3

Sorry that I edited the format of this post a little, I just wanted to make it easier to parse for myself. ;v;

Name: I needed some help coming up with a few things for my jadeblood. His name is Cagino Denneb. His first name doesn’t have any exact meaning and I like that. It feels natural? His last name connects with the constellation I based him off of (Cygnus, the swan) Deneb was one of the stars in it so I just added a extra n so it would fit the format. His symbol is the same as the constellation. 

Hmmm. Maybe we could justify Cagino by giving him a vague interest in gambling? So Casino reference. Not even necessarily an intense one, just a little bit, because of his rebellious nature. It’s a way to take risks! Without getting hurt. Casual danger. 

Age: He’s about seven sweeps.  Strife Specibus: I was split between two weapons for him for some time. A whip and a bow and arrow. I finally decided to give him both. 

He seems relatively chill, so a distance weapon does make sense for him. Something he has a change to line up and fire. Bows and arrows are theoretically possible to use in swan hunting, too. So I think just doing the bow and arrow and not bothering with the whip is the better idea here. There’s also the fun Luck Of The Draw pun to be made here.

Fetch Modus: I don’t have a fetch modus, handle or quirk for him yet and I need help deciding on those things. 

To draw in that gambling thing I recommended, have it be a slot machine. He pulls the arm and it just randomly decides what gets spit out. Sometimes it spits out a weird useless mishmash of a few items he had in there. Highly inconvenient, but that’s part of the thrill!

Trolltag: How about intemperateInfluencer? Implying his tendency towards vice and rebellion as well as the influence he has on others?

Quirk: Deneb is the 19th brightest star in the sky, so you could replace i with 1 and d with 9. 

Ex: 1 am not intereste9 in going into a 9ark and 9reary cave. 

Interests: I need more interests too. Cagino enjoys to make accessories for trolls he knows. Most of these have practical uses but others (like his cape) are just for fun and flair. I can see him being a believer of the Signless and he desires to spread those ideals but he’s casual about it. He managed to get his highblood moirail to adopt some of them. I’m struggling with more interests for him.

Alright, so he’s interested in fashion… And equality. Maybe he could be interested in philosophical stuff as a part of that? Or just the idea of fighting for what’s right. 

I already recommended gambling, so he likes the idea of a good time. Maybe he likes taking minor risks in general? Or he could just like playing around with his money. 

Since you want him to be a life player, you might want to make him a bit of a meddler. Someone who’s interested in what’s going on in other people’s lives and wanting to convince them to do other stuff. More of a gentle nudging than anything else, but still. 

Maybe have him interested in found object art? Like locating swan feathers and using them for his projects, or utilizing pressed flowers in decor, or using cool bones to make jewelry, and stuff like that. 

Since he wants to explore the galaxy, you could definitely give him an interest in space and astronomy. Maybe you could make him want to prove himself as a warrior? Like wanting to be an Archeradicator, since he uses a bow and arrow!

Hive/Lusus: He lives near a lake with his lusus. Its a swan with a koi tail. 

Hmm. I don’t really understand where and why the koi comes in? Maybe you could do… Swanna. 

Personality: Personality wise he’s a rebel of sorts. The idea of being stuck in a cave later on as a adult bores him and he rather explore the galaxy. He’s pretty relaxed but can stir trouble. Like most jades he gives off this elegant vibe but he’s casual at the same time. 

Like I said under interests, make him a bit more meddle-y, too. Make him a good influencer. Maybe have him utilize social media a lot and be popular enough that he can kinda casually disseminate information and ideas? And have him maybe be a little goal-focused? He wants to get out of being stuck in a cave, so he needs to be thinking of plans and ways to avoid this. 

Title: I decided to give him Rogue of Life as a title but I can see Sylph as well due to his helpful nature. I didn’t want to make him Breath because my violet is already one. 

I like Rogue of Life and tried to kinda sprinkle stuff that would support this throughout. The passive allocater of life and development and growth. He can passively influence other people and try to act as a sort of healer. Maybe he can even redistribute life potential! Increase other people’s lifespans by shortening the enemy’s, too.  

Dream Planet: He’s a Derse dreamer. 

I’m on the fence about this, because he does seem more like the adaptive sort than the actively fighting it sort… But he is somewhat dissatisfied with his actual position in life? I’ll accept it. This takes place on Alternia (not sure if its hiveswap time or beta troll time tho) and I hope that this is enough info to get something out of this. I’m bad at explaining things and translating my thoughts into text. My friend cleaned up the sprite. I don’t remember where I got his shoes from and I apologize for that. 

Don’t worry, this is all good information! Now it’s time for the design:

Horns: I wanted to put the jadeblood hooked end in there, so I did and then… realized it looks like a swan’s head even more than it already did! Hell yeah. Look at this beautiful bird. 

Hair: I just added a little bit more flips so it wouldn’t stray too similar to Kanaya’s hair. 

Mouth: I gave him lips and fangs, since those are seen on every jade so far, even the boy(s). 

Symbol: I edited it to fit the jade sign language slightly better. It has the added benefit of looking like the swan has tailfeathers! 

Leggings: I made them darker, to add more value contrast in the design. Too many light colors just didn’t vibe well together. 

He’s really interesting and has a lot of potential! Thank you for sharing.

Did you receive my refs? I know tumblr can glitch out and not send things at times and i was really worried that it didnt go through because it uploaded a lot of text and 2 pictures really quickly. I was just curious and anxious aaa dont mind me.

I have a non canon kin and i wanted art of me and my moirail (idk if you are familiar with homestuck terms but if not im sure you can easily google it) being cute. Is there any way i send you refs so you can do the sketch accurately?

I’m familiar with the Homestucks yes. I can work of from vague descriptions p well (or just pop in my streams and tell me what to do as im drawing) but I’ll open the submit box if you guys wanna send in refs!
