7/14/25.
Bucket list event for me: seeing The Divine Comedy in concert. This October they're playing a tour of the UK. Neil and company seem to love the fall concert tour which doesn't really align with a Northern California working lifestyle. Someday, though.
On this tour, Neil has asked Studio Electrophonique to open. I'd never heard of the music of Sheffield's James Leesley. "David and Jayne" is step one to remedying that issue. Leesley's music is hushed, quiet, and melodic in the vein of Belle and Sebastian. Their Bandcamp presence is limited to two sold out cassingles, and an upcoming full length LP. Discogs shows an LP and an EP. However, a little more sleuthing turned up High Hazels, Leesley's full band group that reminds me more of The Dears.
Anyway, as I'm smitten by all things related to The Divine Comedy, I thought I'd pass on the fact that (1) Studio Electrophnique exist and (2) they will be opening for The Divine Comedy in the fall of 2025.
