Rain splattered on the windows in the early morning. Olivia Millier expected that it was going to be a dull day. But there was nothing she could do about that. She still had work to get to, she had to take her daughter to day care. Her parents never offered to help her with her, so there was no use in trying to as them to. The little girl was in her bedroom, playing with some blocks. She loved those blocks and she hated to take her away from them, but they had to go.
"Cosette! It's time to go sweetie!" Olivia called to her as she headed toward her room. Her four year old looked at her with those sad puppy dogs eyes when she entered the room. "I'm sorry Co, but we've got to go." The little girl pouted at her. "But mommy, I don't wanna go." Sighing, she went over to her. Kneeling down by her, she brushed some hair out of her eyes. At least she was already dressed, she'd done that just after she'd gotten the girl some breakfast. "I'll make you a deal. We'll go to McDonald's for dinner after I pick you up okay?" Cosette's eyes lit up at that. She didn't often take her out to fast food places like that one, but she wanted to cheer her up. "Deal," Cosette agreed with a smile. "Come on then. Let's go."
Soon, the two left their two bedroom apartment. It wasn't anything fancy, but it was enough for them. There was a kitchen, a laundry room, a decent sized bathroom, a living room and that was all that they needed. The car ride to Cosette's daycare was a quick one. They already lived quite near the city, just on the outskirts of it really. And it was convenient getting to places that they needed to be. When they got to the daycare,
Olivia helped her daughter out of her car seat and shut the door behind them. Locking the car, she walked inside hand in hand with the little girl. "Missus Annie!" Cosette said happily upon seeing one of the day workers there. "Hello Cosette! Are you here to play with the other children today?" The blonde woman knelt eye level with her daughter. Cosette nodded. She never seemed to want to go there, but she knew that she had a good time there. It was better than trying to get her to go with her grandparents anyway.
"Come on then. Everything will be fine Miss Miller. She'll be well looked after." The woman was standing up now and Olivia smiled gratefully at her. "Thank you Annie. See you later kiddo, okay?" Cosette released her hand by gave her a hug instead. Olivia hugged her back for a moment before letting her go off into the play room with Annie. Sighing a little, Olivia headed to the front deah where she signed in. Then, she saw him. The young man with a young son about her daughter's age probably. He looked like he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. Going over to him, she put on her best friendly face. "You look like you could use some help? Is this the first time bringing your son here?
