Happy Birthday to James Keenan, lead singer of the iconic band Tool! 🎉🎂
James was born in Ravenna, Ohio and grew up in Michigan. He served in the US Army before pursuing his passion for music. His beginnings in music were in the band Children of the Anachronistic Dynasty, where he played bass and sang. Later on, he joined the band Green Jellÿ as a backup singer, and it was there that he met Adam Jones, the future guitarist of Tool.
Tool was formed in 1990, with James as the lead vocalist, Adam on guitar, Danny Carey on drums, and Paul D'Amour on bass. They quickly gained a reputation for their unique sound and captivating live performances. One of their most famous songs, "Sober," was released in 1993 as part of their debut album "Undertow."
"Sober" is a powerful and intense song that deals with the struggles of addiction and the consequences of losing control. It was a huge hit when it came out, and the music video, directed by Fred Stuhr, became an instant classic with its surreal imagery and haunting visuals.
