“if i didn’t have a dog, i s’pose i would.” neve thought, but she’d had robocop for so long now that life without a dog just seemed strange. he was her only connection to her late father and to her life before. “although even with him i don’t really like to go to the dog park. people are nuts and don’t understand dogs. we usually go for runs or hikes instead.”
“definitely a nightowl.” part of that was an occupational side effect. “i work overnights. partially because it pays more. also because i like the people better, hate getting up early, and have never loved being around management.”
“i went to have dinner at adelita’s before the whole town hall incident.” thinking of it still made her unsettled. she’d assumed that working at an er in charming would be boring when she took the job. most of the small town traumas she’d experienced in other travel assignments were tractor accidents, car accidents, skill saw severings. she didn’t expect the same amount of gun violence she’d seen in the city ( only with fewer resources ). “i’m gonna make my way back over soon.” most of her friends were just work acquaintances, but adelita was at least a real kind of a friend.
