Usually Jameson was more eloquent. Kinder. But this had been weighing on him for a bit and it had just sort of...come out. The acrid scent of disappointment, hurt, was clear to him even had Silas managed to school his features sooner.

"That's the problem, Silas. I don't actually want you to stop staying over. But I can't keep what we have up," he said honestly. "I can't take falling asleep with you and waking up to you leaving, or gone. I can't take how I feel about you, when you either don't feel the same way, or aren't willing to admit you do."

No strings wasn't something Jameson was inherently good at. It wasn't something he usually chose to do. He felt too much, too deeply, too fast. He'd been so fond of Silas from the beginning, but the longer this...relationship? Situationship? went, the more it made him ache.
