James and Lily got into an argument at the Yule Ball over Lily's date, Scorpius. Rose, learning from her mother's own Yule Ball experiences, was the only one who managed to cheer Lily up afterwards.
To James, Scorpius and Al seemed to hate each other. He was the only one oblivious to their romance and only found out when Al brought Scorpius home in the summertime.
