harry didn’t really know how to handle the whole situation with his father and veronica mann’s constant, on again off again relationship. it was... weird, to say the least, especially as a grown man who knew why they’d keep the affair going for so long — or at least sort of understood why. the thought made harry want to throw up. but james had nothing to do with it, and since their parents’ most recent stunt, although brief, the oldest vandenberg child had sort of taken it upon himself to be the step-brother he had forced to be legally, before their parents separated, again. it was so incredibly ridiculous, harry didn’t even try to keep tabs anymore — but he did want to stay in touch with veronica’s son. “hello, mate. or should i say, dude?” harry greeted, giving his best surfer’s greeting gesture. “you know, i’m over here trying to stay trendy. gotta keep up with you youngsters.” he was aware james wasn’t within the age gap he referred to, but it made for a fun joke — for harry, anyway. “my mum actually asked about you the other day.” it wasn’t a lie, and the reminder got a laughing scoff out of harry. “quite the brady bunch we got here, yeah?” | ( @jamesselroy )
