STARGATE (THE MOVIE)
On October 28, 1994, the theatrical movie, 'Stargate,' with Kurt Russell, James Spader, Jaye Davidson, Alexis Cruz, Erick Avari (and a cast of others) opened in theaters in the United States.
However, there was also a big Star Trek convention being held in San Francisco that weekend, and that's where I was. Fans had also worked in seeing the Stargate movie, and were reporting back that was excellent. The movie was playing in a theater just a few blocks from the convention.
Finally, on Sunday, Oct. 30, after the con ended, a large group of us went to the theater to see Stargate.
The opening musical score by David Arnold really caught my attention; and you could feel the excitement building in the audience. The audience response to the movie was marvelous.
But by the time Kasuf and the villagers came pouring over the sand dunes towards the end of the movie, the whole audience was cheering.
