Join us for the North American launch of Swatches by Jamie Q at DNA Artspace Bookshop on July 16th from 7-9PM. Produced during an artist's residency at L'APPÂT in Brussels, Belgium, Swatches follows up Jamie Q's recent solo show at DNA. Printed by hand in a signed and numbered edition of 72 copies, the book features the artist's patterns screen-printed onto fabric pages. Some of these designs are derived from murals and paintings developed for the exhibition Surfacing. Please join us as we celebrate the North American debut of this project! Jamie Q makes paintings, drawings, zines, prints, sculptures, and textile pieces. They have shown their art and distributed their zines internationally, including notable group shows at Krets Gallery in Sweden, the Luggage Store Annex in San Francisco, and Museum London in Ontario; and solo exhibitions at DNA Artspace in London, L'APPÂT in Brussels, Art Metropole in Toronto, and Parentheses Gallery & Art Projects in Halifax. Jamie Q holds a BFA from the Alberta College of Art & Design (2002) and an MFA from Western University (2010).
