With so much going on in the world right now I felt it was time for these prints to make their way out of the darkness and into the spotlight. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I want to help the LGBTQ+ community celebrate Pride this year since they can’t hold parades or marches, and this quote from Everybody’s Talking About Jamie felt very fitting in the current situation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There is so much uncertainty surrounding the pandemic; people are worried about their livelihoods, they’re separated from loved ones, they’re feeling trapped or anxious in their own homes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Then there’s the protests that have sparked a global revolution. So many people are risking their safety to go out onto the streets, demanding justice and an end to racism. Not only are they possibly exposing themselves to the virus but they risk facing continued demonstrations of police brutality. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And during all of this, Pride simply sparkles with hope, indicating that we can affect change through raising our voices. It’s a demonstration of acceptance and love. It embraces those who are brave enough to say that they are different and it remembers those who were persecuted for those differences.
