I’ve decided to start a new project where I create weekly posts with updates on our team, standings, prospects, games, highlights, etc! I know the week can get hectic so these posts will be designed to help keep you up to date on everything going on, and/or things you may have missed. The “Weekly Weather Report” will be scheduled every Monday at 10am EST unless otherwise posted. I hope you guys find this useful!
Previous Games:

Standings:
Points Leaders:
For what it’s worth, Hamilton is currently tied for “second” in the league for +/- (+15), while Mrazek is tied “first” for wins (11)
Here are our current team leads (G, A, P):
Checking in with the Checkers:
Eetu Luostarinen has officially played 6 games with the Hurricanes after last night’s game in Detroit. If he plays 10 games (CAR @ BOS, December 3rd) he will require waivers before returning to Charlotte. We should expect his return to Charlotte soon, or possibly have him around for an extended period time. Hopefully it’s the first as I highly doubt he would clear waivers.
The Checkers’ current record is 7-7-3-0, giving them 17 points. As of today they sit 7th in their division, 14th in their conference and 24th in the league.
This past week they traded consistent healthy scratch Anthony Louis (1G) to the Texas Stars for future considerations.
The signed Kerby Rychel to the team
They faced divisional rivals Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, November 20th, and Friday, November 22nd. They earned only one point from OT during Friday’s matchup, despite the impressive grit and fight they put up in each game.
Chase Priskie continues to “do what he wants”. On Saturday, November 23rd, he scored the lone goal of the game that secured the win for the Checkers against former, fellow Calder Cup winning coach, Mike Vellucci, who signed with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins this past offseason.
Despite their rugged start to the season, the Checkers’ PK% currently sits at the top of the league with 94%, and their PP% coming in at 3rd in the league with 20.8%.
Their current points leader is: Morgan Geekie (5g, 6a, 17p), goal leader: Julien Gauthier (6g, 2a, 8p), assist leader: Roland McKeown (1g, 8a, 9p).
This morning the Checkers’ have released former Penn State alumni Casey Bailey from his PTO. He recorded 3 points (1g, 2a) in 5 games with the team.
