Celebrating the #weddingcommunity here in Spain! This photo of an "arras" coin taken by @andreasholm is one of 13 metal coins traditionally presented between the wedding couple at a marriage ceremony in Spain. Some say that the coins have religious significance. Others say that the coins are said to symbolise a commitment to provide financially and to manage the housekeeping. Historically the tradition may have come from Roman times or go way back to the occupation by the Moors. Modern couples may prefer to present each coin by pledging a special word of commitment such as "patience" or "humour" – the final coin being jointly presented in the name of love. Being in Spain, this is a personal favourite ceremony of mine – and if you would like to make it even more special, I would be delighted to perform it in Spanish for you ⭐️Looking forward to this year's arras ceremonies⭐️ Wedding planner: @andaluciaweddings Celebrant: Debbie Skyrme @celebrantspain #celebrantspain #jamkat2019 #Spainweddingcommunity #andaluciaweddings #weddingsinandalucia #andaluciacelebrant #andalusiaofficiant #officiantinandalusia #celebrantinandalucia #arrascoin #andreasholm #arrasceremony #malagawedding #funwedding #weddingritual #cortijowedding #haciendawedding #spainwedding #weddingcoin #costadelsolwedding #costatropicalwedding #engaged2020 #wedding2021 #bridetobe2021 #groomtobe2021 #loveislove #Spanishwedding #bilingualcelebrantspain (at Andalusia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-wAbOICP0d/?igshid=e5k5iojehtz6
