The Love Circle photographed in 2008 for promotional images for a tour they were due to embark on in a matter of weeks. I’d met the Blackman Family many years before when I accompanied the crew of the Banyan television series Gayelle to their farm in Piparo to interview Ras Shorty I about his pivot to religion and a new music, which would come to be named Jamoo. The farm was very much a hardscrabble existence being carved out of soil and wood, the ranch house rough wood and the trails through the plots of tall crops still to be pounded flat with foot traffic. Many years later, I was commissioned to photograph the family for Caribbean Beat and those photographs were done at the family’s “city” home in Lover’s Lane, Tunapuna. There, young Isaac Blackman had shaped a recording studio out of a small room and the family’s instruments were crammed into the impossibly small space. We struck up a friendship of sorts, the band visiting my studio to be photographed for Beat’s cover, an overhead shot that had me tiptoeing on a step ladder to get the required height to make the image. The band would become a series of aggregations, forming around Sheldon on his return visits, Marge and Isaac as they shaped a career out of their talent and their father’s legacy. I’d photograph the cover of Eldon’s solo album in a river stream a few years after the Beat photos. Claudette Blackman, the family’s stalwart matriarch (centre), died in February 2017, nine years after this photo was made. Good day, everyone! 

I am Jamoo and yes, I’m a new... mmm... let’s say that anew simmer, kind off. Being new in this community is a big step for me, I’ve been in the shadow’s for a LOOOOOONG time now, following a lot of amazing simmer’s and finding good cc.

I will post here the current challenge’s that I am palying right now, for example: #LegacyChallenge, a challenge that I decide to convine with the “Alphabet Challenge” in a few minutes I’m gonna share the first person of this generation.
