So anons that decided to hide behind their masks, STOP THIS NOW BEFORE I WILL TAKE MATTERS INTO MY OWN HANDS AND MAKE YOU REGRET FOR SAYING AWFUL THINGS TO MY TUMBLR FAMILY! THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING, I AM THROUGH PLAYING.
So I work at a plant nursery and I usually man the register and help customers with questions about plants and gardening tips. And our store requires a customer to wear a mask for their and the others around them their safety.
There was one woman who had an attire of a rich lady with a fur jacket and too tall high heels (why? you’re in a NURSERY full of grass and dirt woman) talking very loudly over her phone...WITHOUT her mask.
Now for me, I always ask customers to wear a mask in case they forgot. And usually they would be like: “Oh gosh pardon me, I’ll wear it right now l, sorry about that~” and everything’s cool.
But when I asked this woman if she can wear her mask, she gave me a stank look and flat out said. “No” and resumes talking over the phone. Hmm...okay then. I asked her if she had one, and she once again said “NO” very rude like. Giving me no choice, I told her that she would have to leave if she refused to wear one or doesn’t have one on hand, since that’s what I’m suppose to do when this em sort of thing happens. Of course I said that to her calmly and rationally, not even letting her rude attitude get to me.
She started to go OFF on me saying that it’s outrageous that she had to wear one in the open nursery and that she didn’t have to wear one because the air is clean and purifying and such. She even yelled at me that she didn’t see a sign that says she has to wear one, which I calmly pointed at our sign RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE STORE that clearly says “You must wear a mask before entering the store.”
The woman continued to go off on me while I just stood there taking it, hearing her that she doesn’t have to wear one because Texas and Mississippi are officially mask free.
And you wanna know what I said to her...? I said:
“That maybe true in their state ma’am, but last I checked, this is CALIFORNIA. So I’m afraid I can’t let you in if you don’t wear a mask.”
“Ugh, I’m out of here,” she shrieked as she started walking away. “You just lost business with me you b-”
Buuuut she didn’t finish that sentence because she tripped over herself from those high heels, the other customers just watched and tried not to laugh at that moment. She got up quickly and just huffed and puffed all the way to her car, clearly humiliated. Of course, being the one that won’t stoop that low, I called back to her. “Oh well, have a nice day ma’am~” and had went back to work in watering the plants.
Soooooo...yee.
That’s what happened I guess. While it sucks being at the receiving end by people like her, by it sucks harder for them when karma comes around~
