Bad news for those looking forward to Jamzuli Bomb 5: Part 2

I’ve been having trouble coming up with a decent schedule to start part 2 of this 3-part Jamzuli Bomb and @imaplatypus-art/@imaplatypuz decided she didn’t want to do these Jamzuli Bomb commissions anymore, which is disappointing because she was pretty much the reason the Jamzuli ship was kept alive. 

I was hoping on making part 2 being Crossover-themed where Lapis and Jamie meet couples from seven select/different franchises and part 3 being a “free-for-all” meaning you would be free to draw whatever you wanted as long as Jamzuli is involved. 

However, I’m losing faith in my own plans and I’m thinking I might want to pass them onto someone who knows how to make a coherent schedule.

So unless someone is willing to host Jamzuli Bomb 5+ in my place then I’m left with no choice but to cancel parts 2 and 3. 

Here’s my list for my planned part 2 btw 

Jamzuli Bomb 5: Part 2:

Entry 1: Jurato [Jeri x Takato from Digimon Tamers] Takato and Jeri [”Juri” as she’s called in Japan] introduce Jamie and Lapis to Guilmon

Entry 2: Kendy [K.O.! x Dendy from OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes] K.O.! and Dendy show Lapis and Jamie their POW card collection(s)

Entry 3: Samus x Little Mac [from Super Smash Bros.] Samus and Little Mac are in a team for a Smash tournament and Lapis and Jamie are cheering them on.

Entry 4: Broly x Cheelai [from Dragon Ball Super Broly] Lapis mistakes Cheelai for a Peridot, and Jamie is insecure about his muscles after seeing Broly.

Entry 5: Dipifica [Dipper x Pacifica from Gravity Falls] One year after the finale of Gravity Falls and Pacifica finally (and nervously) asks Dipper to go out with her, and Lapis and Jamie squee at the sight.

Entry 6: Jesslake [Jesse x Lake (also known as M.T.) from Infinity Train] Lapis, Jamie, Jesse, and Lake look at the very lake where “M.T.” got her name.

Entry 7: Starco [Star and Marco from Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil] Star and Marco jump in to help Lapis protect Jamie from wild monsters.

Now that Steven Universe is over I feel like doing a do-over for this year’s 3-part Jamzulibomb

I do feel that due to COVID-19 and Steven Universe (Future) finished airing might leave enough room to make shipping art between Lapis and Jamie. 

Now bear in mind that since the show is over these are meant to be as “canon” as your imagination, so chances of them actually meeting aren’t very likely. Which in my opinion is a GOOD thing because now we no longer have to argue about which would be the canon ship. 

Also you don’t have to follow the descriptions to the letter, you can make them based on your interpretation. The descriptions are there to give you a small hint/example on the topic.

Jamzuli Bomb 5: Part 1 (Do-Over) - April

Entry 1: Friends - Jamie and Lapis talk about the good times

Entry 2: Laughter - Jamie, Lapis, and Peridot laugh at the Camp Pining Hearts Reboot 

Entry 3: Oops - Jamie talks to the wrong Lapis 

Entry 4: Aquarium - Jamie takes Lapis to an aquarium 

Entry 5: Art Lessons - Lapis teaches Jamie how to paint/draw

Entry 6: Letters - Lapis grew so attached to Jamie that she writes him a love letter 

Entry 7: Dinner Date - A Lady and the Tramp homage would be adorable

Attention all Jamzuli Shippers

Now that Steven Universe Future is on an indefinite hiatus, I’d like to say I’m thinking of starting/hosting a three-part Jamzuli Bomb starting in February where people can submit shipping fanart featuring Lapis and Jamie in a Valentine’s setting all from Feb. 9th to Feb. 15th. 

Hopefully that would give you Jamzuliers (or “Jamzuleaguers” as I like to call you) plenty of time to prepare. And the best part is; it doesn’t have to end in just February. It can come back in two more parts of the year. 

Now I haven’t decided when those two parts would come out yet (maybe part two would be in Summer?), but there’s going to be a hiatus between each of those parts. 

Jamzuli Bomb 5: Part 1

February 9th; Sunday - Flowers: (Jamie and Lapis simultaneously look for flowers for Valentine’s Day but Lapis picks sea anemones thinking they’re actual flowers) 

February 10th; Monday - Hospital: (Jamie was rushed to the hospital because of the anemone stings, which Lapis heavily apologizes for.)

February 11th; Tuesday - Jealousy: (Lapis sees Jamie chatting with “Nice” Lapis thinking he was two-timing her when in reality he was apologizing to “Nice” Lapis for the case of “Mistaken Identity”)

February 12th; Wednesday - Making up/Forgiveness: (Jamie clears up the misunderstanding with Lapis and she forgives him)

February 13th; Thursday - Letters: (Lapis sneaks a love letter to surprise Jamie but when he gets it; it was wet) 

February 14th; Friday - First Date: (Jamie asked Lapis out on a dinner date with an homage to Lady and the Tramp)

February 15th; Saturday - Protection: (On their way home they get ganged up by thugs who want to hit on Lapis, but Lapis is the one who saves the day)

What’ya think? Do you think it’s a good idea to have the Next Jamzuli Bomb happen three times a year instead of once a year?

Today’s the last day of Jamzuli Bomb 5: Part 1

And to be honest; I’m disappointed in the results. Nobody even submitted, and those that were about to wanted to wait for a later date.

I thought I gave people plenty of time to prepare but some people didn’t respond until last week which was when it was just about too late to edit. 

I even contacted @imaplatypuz / @imaplatypus-art several times about my edits upon her request and whether or not she would like the event to be postponed... no answer. 

So with a heavy heart I must announce that this year’s (three part) Jamzuli Bomb was dead on arrival, and I must postpone this “Valentines” themed bomb to a later date where I’m aware of when the shipping fanartists are actually open. 

So until further notice; Jamzuli Bomb 5: Part 1 is being delayed indefinitely.

I may have to postpone Jamzuli Bomb 5: Part 1 to a later date and make some changes

It’s already Tuesday (which is day 2 of this Jamzulibomb) and I haven’t received one submission yet. @selinindigo on the Jamzuli discord that they made one for Friday, but to me Friday’s not really a good start for a Jamzuli Bomb if it was supposed to run from a Sunday to a Saturday.

@imaplatypuz even told me that my descriptions were “a lot” so I thought I would try shortening them, but it looks like that didn’t help. So with careful consideration I’m thinking about postponing the Valentine’s-themed Jamzuli Bomb to a month (or so) where people have more free time (hopefully in March, but I’m open to suggestions). I may even change some of the rules such as “maybe instead of a post a day for seven days, it would be a user can upload a post on seven select days within the month?”

By that I mean artists can submit a post a day for up to seven days as long as they’re done by the end of the month. That way they don’t have to post every day and have short breaks.

And instead of labeling which day in the month, the list would be labeled as

[Bomb Name Here]-[Month Name Here]

Entry 1: [Entry name here] - [Description/Guideline here]

Entry 2: [Entry name here] - [Description/Guideline here]

Entry 3: [Entry name here] - [Description/Guideline here]

Now I’m going to try these Valentine’s entries again, but this time if you have criticisms about these descriptions “harshing your vibe(s)” @imaplatypuz... then at least notify me immediately instead of the week before the event. Because that was harshing MY vibe.

Sorry if this comes off as passive-aggressive, I’m just feeling a little cranky right now.

Jamzuli Bomb 5 Part 1 (Do-Over) is officially over

I'd like to thank @imaplatypuz/@imaplatypus-art for contributing for this month's Jamzuli Bomb project, and I look forward to working with her again in the future... but for now I believe she deserves a long-earned rest for her hard work.

If you like her artwork please give her a follow on her Tumblr and/or Instagram pages. And if you want to support her financially then go to her redbubble page and buy some custom printed merch. 

She deserves a break for helping make part 1 of this project possible. When she’s ready (as well as others) I’d like to host part 2 (of 3) of this year’s Jamzuli Bomb with a Crossover theme.

As of tomorrow, Jamzuli Bomb 4/(under new management) will officially be over

But that doesn’t have to be the end of Jamzuli fanart in general, people can make more Jamzuli fanart whenever they feel like it. Jamzuli Bomb is usually when we get the MOST Jamzuli posts and give helpful directions/motivations anyway.

I’d like to thank @imaplatypus-art/@imaplatypuz and @jamzuli4life for contending this year’s Jamzulibomb, especially @imaplatypus-art for making seven of the best Jamzuli posts I’ve seen in a while. 

Hopefully (if it’s allowed) I’ll get to host more than one Jamzuli Bomb next year. And maybe look forward to several more fanartists join in in the future.

Jamzuli Bomb 4(?)

I found out that a ship called “Jamzuli” wasn’t going to have a bomb event this year due to the deactivation of @wishuponakiss’s Tumblr account.

So with this news I’m deciding if they’re not going to host it, then I guess I shall instead. (If you’re okay with that that is)

Now bear in mind that this is my first time hosting an event, so I have no experience on how to properly make one.

But I’ve been told that if I have themes then there might be a chance there’d be more fanart.

Now I’m pretty much looking for those that can make good fanart. They don’t have to be perfect, but they should at least have effort.

I already have a couple of candidates who can pull it off [@imaplatypus-art and @jbrito-draws for example] but I also hope there are newcomers who are skilled and interested enough to join.

October 13th; Sunday – First Meet: Post-Change Your Mind Edition (Pretty much the updated version/remake of the original “First Meet” from Jamzuli Bomb 1, except it takes place after Change Your Mind)

October 14th; Monday - Comfort (Preferably Lapis comforting Jamie by helping him move on from Garnet)

October 15th; Tuesday – Library (Jamie and Lapis read about Buddy Buddwick)

October 16th; Wednesday – Vacation (Jamie and Lapis have fun in Empire City)

October 17th; Thursday – Binge-Watching (Jamie and Lapis watch Camp Pining Hearts)

October 18th; Friday – Movies (Jamie and Lapis watch a dramatic movie in the theater)

October 19th; Saturday – Little Homeworld Tour (Lapis shows Jamie Little Homeworld)

Hopefully that will give you plenty of time to prepare under such short notice, and I hope you have fun giving Jamzuli another chance for recognition
