Salvage
I liked this one. I enjoyed the tension that permeated the story. I also liked the brief touch on why bad things happen.

Come, Gentle Night
I liked this one. But I think I liked the note afterward even more lol.
John declines relations.
Which on the first night could actually be seen as sweet. And I mean, if she totally didn’t want that at all, good on him.
Buuuut...
6 years later and she runs away and divorces him on the grounds of non-consummation.
Then gets remarried and ends up having EIGHT kids lol.
Ballad
Damn.
Just...damn.
This one was sort of depressing. It took me a bit to get into it. And then the last few pages were a flurry of emotion. Anger, disgust, pity, compassion, sadness.
Overall this might be one of my favorites from the book.
Night Vision
I enjoyed this one. While Franny is only 9, I found her to be relatable and I was totally cheering her on.
I was nervous for her.
The ending made me happy. You go girl!
“I think colour is when you can taste something with your eyes.”

Revelations
This one...this one was bizarre. But in the sense that there have been many instances of cults over our history. And I always find it weirdly fascinating.
Also, I would like to kick Friend Mother in the shin.
Account
Not going to lie, I did not finish reading this one. It read too much like a history book.
No thanks.
For the discussions I’m going to do it by each story in the book. I’m just going to kind of do a word vomit on how I felt about each story. Feel free to jump in and agree or disagree or add anything!
Here we go!
