Three months ago I finally found a book I had been looking for for three years. Alan Burgess’ “Seven Men At Daybreak”, first published in 1960 and probably out of print for longer than I’ve been alive, one of the first accounts of Heydrich’s assassination. I started reading it an hour ago, and I’m really having fun over here. Yes, this is “historical fiction”, there are no sources, the author does not claim everything is correct, and it’s honestly impressive that he found all this information before 1960, esp considering the relationship between Great Britain and The Czech Republik at that time. But, DUDE. Half of the first two chapters is pure speculation! Also, what was that post about “you know it’s a good author if you can’t tell which historic figure they want to fuck”? Yeah, he fails that on the first two pages. But it’s fun :D
