#JanaEats in Estonia • Let’s begin with Olde Hansa, a restaurant with a medieval dining experience. This was my favourite in Tallinn. I tried their honey beer. We ordered Earl’s Forest Mushroom Soup, which was the best mushroom soup I’ve had so far. We tried game sausages made of bear, wild boar and elk with sauerkraut, spelt with saffron, lentil sauce and ginger rootbaker. My, my, my, it was soooo gooodddd. The meat was cooked perfectly. Everything on that plate worked perfectly together in terms of taste (but not in plating, obvs. Well, medieval nga, diba?) Tbh, I wouldn’t have ordered that because bear, wild boar and elk seemed too exotic for me to eat. I also couldn’t guess how the whole meal would taste like because the menu doesn’t even have photos. Apart from the sauerkraut, I wasn’t sure how the rest would taste individually. But our waiter recommended that so we trusted him. Nabawasan yung level ng trust issues ko that night. Char! 😂 • Spaghetti Bella di Mare (prawns and dill with slightly spicy creamy tomato sauce and crispy cheese on top) and The Big Kahuna Pizza (blue cheese, prawns, chicken, bacon, pineapple) from Steffani Pizza Restaurant at Parnu. I enjoyed this, too. I liked that the pizza crust was thin so it wasn’t too heavy to eat. It was also filled with toppings. We had cheese (and prawns) overload with our food choices but it didn’t have that umay factor. • Oh, those gourmet peanuts from the streets! I could smell them from a far. It’s addicting! Perfect to munch on while walking around. I tried the smoked, cinnamon covered almonds. Yummm! • Chicken soup with homemade noodles and rye bread at Rukis. It was drizzling on and off that day and that kind of weather calls for a soup. We were also taught one more way to eat rye bread - with butter and a pinch of salt. I am a rye bread fan now. #CarbsIsLife • Went to Telliskivi, one of the hipster areas in Tallinn and ate at Kivi Paber Käärid. Had Spicy Vietnamese Style Soup with Smoked Duck and Rice Noodles and one drink (Mabait ako that night. Jk. We had to catch a flight to Berlin the next day kasi.)
