Figured it would be best to visit it at night for photos (also I didn’t have any other free time 😅). The temple and shops were already closed though but at least there weren’t heaps of people. Oh, and I tried Omikuji for the first time. I partly got the stick out from the container when I saw the number written on it was, of course, in Japanese. I considered, for a split second, putting it back. 😂 Thank heavens for Google. Usually, people have one housewarming every once in a while. But me? I had two last year (and hopefully the next one would not be anytime soon!). 😂 No, it was not fun. Moving twice in a year is expensive and stressful. On the bright side, this flat came with bar stools! 😂 (We sat on the living room floor to eat during my very first housewarming at my previous flat.) With only 3-4 hours of sleep and some alcohol in the system (😝), we dragged ourselves out of bed to go to the city for a quick stroll on a cool (It was 40-something degrees the day before, geez!) and quiet morning. Good start for the new year, hey! 😊 Sharing NYE feast from last night, too. Made some sangria, oven-baked chicken tenderloins and brussels sprouts, artichoke and capsicum pasta (realised I forgot to add the burrata cheese after we ate! 😅) paired with bread, balsamic vinegar and olive oil and brioche bread pudding with bourbon and caramel sauce. 😊 Happy and Blessed New Year, everyone! ❤️ I hope we can all try to be a little kinder this year.
