For day 1 of @jancyweeks 2026, theme is post-finale battle so adding another chapter on this post-finale fix it fic I started after watching the finale and being fueled by wrath for the Duffers. This picks up right where the first chapter left off. Next chapter will be smutty, oop.

Jonathan busies himself by the fridge and stove after she absentmindedly mentions she’s hungry, having not eaten for god knows how long. She really has to kiss him then, and doesn’t hold back this time.
“Thank you,” she tells him gratefully.
“No problem.”
“I’m starving,” Mike mutters, habitually rummaging through the pantry.
“I’ll make something for everyone,” Jonathan assures. Digging out eggs, milk and blueberries he turns around. “Hey Holly, how about blueberry pancakes?”
“For dinner?” Holly gasps excitedly.
Blueberry pancakes is Holly’s favorite breakfast food. Which Jonathan knows. That he knows that is one of a billion reasons she loves him, she realizes.
“Yes, I think it’s allowed for special occasions. Like when you save the world,” Jonathan tells her.
She can’t stop smiling at that. She’s about to ask Mrs. Byers for help setting the table and to suggest someone should shower now so they’re not all queuing up for it later. But a strange thump from upstairs halts all activity. She quickly scans the room. Jonathan, Holly, Mike, Will, Mrs. Byers, Hopper. Everyone is accounted for. But someone is upstairs.
