Emotionally Compromised | Jane & Skylar
Skylar was not even realising who it was that she looked for in the crowd that was starting to get to her more and more. Sweat broke out on her forehead and her hands were shaking, her movements becoming more hectic with every passing second. Jonathan had long ran off and their stand-off with some rioters seemed like it had happened in another lifetime. The brunette was a caged animal without any means of escape or relief in sight. There must be some way out of here, she thought as she slipped fast two equally drenched recruits. She just had to find something – someone – that wouldn’t let her slip into chaos and panic like so many of the people around her.
Even though everyone here had successfully cleared the danger zone they were far from calming down. Recruits had armed themselves and were causing havoc outside of the mensa. There was no way that she would go out there again. Yet the more time past the more certain she grew that were was something else bothering her besides the impending death from suffocation and hysteria. There was something amiss but the recruit was unwilling to admit what it was even though some part of her had identified the feeling long ago. Worry was not something that was on Skylar Edlund’s limited list of allowed emotions. The feeling was it though that made her feet move toward the entrance to the mensa again and before she knew it she was engulfed in a different kind of chaos.
