University Planning - Jane-Marie and Emily
She watched as the babysitter took hold of her daughter. Her lips pursed with worry. This was the first time in 3 months that she was separating from Primrose. She took several deep breaths as the babysitter smiled, "It shall be okay, I will take good care of her I promise." She replied.
Emily pursed again tensing hard in her shoulders. "I trust you." She lied while gritting her teeth and smiling. She turned quickly and shouted back, "Thank you!"
Emily shook slightly. This was unreasonably uncomfortable leaving her child for the first time with a neighbor in their apartment complex, but this had to be done. She had to start registering for school. Still her arms were shaking and she couldn't change her mind about it.
By the time she got there she was already exhausted being out on her own. The energy was completely zapped from her. She stood in front of the registrar's counter. The clerk there glanced up and held up a finger while she was on the phone. It must of been important. It seemed that way until she started giggling and talking about some of the fashions she had seen. Emily stared down at her with an expression that could kill. The clerk looked up, "I uh... I got to go someone is at the counter."
Emily rolled her eyes gently but put a sweet smile upon her face and slid a packet towards the lazy clerk. "Those are my registration papers for the summer semester that is going to be starting soon." She knew it was spring, but sooner or later summer would be here and she would be in classes once again. She rocked back and forth on her heels waiting impatiently for the clerk.
"Alright I shall put those in for you." The clerk immediately ignored her as she went pack to pushing papers.
"Thats... it?" Emily replied blinking a few times. "Really?'
The clerk looked up and scowled, "Yes. Those are your registration papers you have to be accepted first before you can start choosing classes."
Emily's eyes widened and nodded gently. "Ah. Well..." She tried to think of something that could change the matter. It seemed the clerk was incompetent. "You know I've been here before. I just took a break this semester and transfering in from another university."
"Oh... then that's different then... No you still have to wait. Sorry."
Emily twitched slightly. "Look... I have already been told I was accepted and that I should bring these papers in... I... think you should get someone a bit more qualified for your job... please."
The clerk's eyes widened. "And how do i know your telling the truth, hmm?"
Emily pointed to the computer in front of the clerks face. "Rather than updating Facebook perhaps you should actually do your job." She hissed a little bit from her teeth and smiled darkly.
The clerks eyes widened, looked down at the registration papers for her name and quickly began typing them in. "oh... your Watson? The Watson from oxford Watson?" Emily didn't look all that impressed, but nodded.
"It would seem you are... accepted... Ill change the status on the computer." She said sheepishly.
Emily smiled, wiggled her fingers and exited the registrars office before she completely exploded. She needed a fag after all that bull crap. Shaking she sat down upon the bench and began her ritual of people watching.
