Scattered Thoughts Thingy for PLL: The Perfectionists, 1x02
-I had this idea like halfway through the episode so maybe it's not my best, but also not promising a steep increase in quality lol
-BIG PROPS for having a woman pastor at the funeral, bc like ??? I feel like that never happens in shows? And honestly it has personal significance to me
-Love the pie. Just, the way it's there in every Ali/Mona scene. It's like a reverse Shower Harvey, a Thing That Happens So Often It Becomes a Joke, but in a good way this time!
-On the Ali/Mona note, do they already have a ship name? Romantic, or otherwise? Because if not, I put forth ALIMONY as a contender! Either way, I love AliMony and their use of pie to communicate
-"Hmmm, Dana Booker looks familiar, and not just because of the Wilden/Holbrook/Tanner parallels"
-"OH that's why I recognize her" I'm actually excited to see what Klea Scott does with a more expanded and (hopefully?) likeable role than Aria and Ezra's editor from S6-7. I just find it funny and cool that we have an actor playing different in-universe roles like 2 years apart 😂
-going along with police/security parallels, like. Funeral parallels, they're there, etc. I'm not going to go into huge detail with it bc everyone else already has; a lot of them were probably reused in PLL's 4x01 and 6x11 funerals, and I'm slightly over it, but I still think they're cool
-Mentions of "A-type" things are 😍, sorry not sorry but I'm the kinda guy who watches spin-offs and goes gaga over references to the original
-I don't remember exactly what, but something Ali or Mona said made me think Ali might mention Charlotte, which. I would die, I miss Charlotte so much
-lol @ them reusing Ruelle's "Daydream" for the funeral soundtrack (PLL 7x08 ending, where "Spencer" is looking at old baby pics)
-Also I didn't finish this post but accidentally posted it D: aaaaaand I can't finish the episode because my Xbox lost its network connection and cut off Hulu??? But I'll finish and touch this up soon!
-okay, at this point I've actually written everything I want and it's actually liveblogging- Raised my eyebrows at the Whisper, didn't expect anything that straightforward

-"paint me dark, Dylan"- I like how they're setting up Ava to have a, well... darker character arc, what with her being closer to Nolan, and her family being gone. Excited to see where it goes!
-Alison's meeting Booker, I'm watching the next day on Hulu and I've seen enough gifsets to know where this is going ;)
-tension between Ali and Dana, love love love
-also love how Ava doesn't respond to Dylan and Caitlin's voicemails, it's subtle but still notable
-also worth noting- Mrs Hotchkiss says Taylor "went missing," then clarifies, saying it was a suicide- a mistake, or just confusing writing?
-Taylor's discontent as a teacher was painted in hindsight as simple unhappiness after her faked suicide- but this further confirms that Taylor was bothered by BHU's security system early on
-Claire tells Ali to teach the students, be survivors at all costs. Another hint that Ali's past is why she's there
-HANNNNNA SPENCER TOBY WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK I NEVER EXPECTED I mean it's a little cheap and cheesy that Spencer and Toby eloped but I'm eating up that fanservice
-Ava's message :')
-Callback to Wilden, saying the girls' names
-AAAAALLLLII coming out to back up her students, love that too
-"bring it on, bitch" I saw the line previously and thought it was to Booker's face, but you know it's still a great moment with the students' reactions
