It may not sound very “Sorcerer Supreme” but it’s common courtesy, Stephen.
"College gives you permission to begin your story." -Francis Tanglao-Aguas
By Janet Van, APIASF Scholar
When I first heard Francis speaking at the session, I could tell that he was very humble and a passionate man with a great outlook on life. He told us his life story and how he approached the idea of education. His speech began about how his life was before he came to America and the adventures afterward. He also explained that getting a good education is a starting point for the rest of your life. As he went deeper into the insight, his words began resonating with me. I began thinking more on the importance of a good education. College was not just a place to learn what you need to learn for your future career; it was a place to discover the things that help you grow as a person. Being able to explore the different clubs and organization could help you find a passion you didn't even realize was there. College gives you the chance to make a difference in your life as well as your community.
I am so grateful to have been able to attend the Summit and to listen to what the leaders of our community have to say. I have learned so much from how to tackle any obstacles to giving back to my own community. This has been a once in a life time experience that I will always remember.
