     The siren’s brows furrowed a bit as she stared at the other female, ❝What do you mean... ‘special occasions only’?❞ Maya gestured passed her to at least 2 bandits she had dragged across Pandora just to burn them alive in an all too well-known incinerator- and for whatever reason, she was being stopped. Hopefully, it was a joke. Dear God, let it be a joke, she could only handle so much of their bickering behind her, completely unphased by the fact all the blue-haired female wanted to do was watch them burn alive. 

     ❝Do you need me to go buy champagne? Or...??? I mean, come on, they sorta need to be dealt with now, you know?❞ 

     Behind her, their snickers continued ❝Oh no! Take your time, it’s not like we have places to be, right Reg?❞ The larger once snorted, something similar to a big, ❝Yep, not a single place to be.❞

     Her face fell a bit. ❝C’mon, just let me use it.❞

  There’s a small wince from the Ex-Lance assassin, watching Janey carefully dab the alcohol soaked rag on the cut on her shoulder. It was a long day working at Atlas, dealing with some asshole gang that wanted to cause more problems for Rhys. Dealing with them was easy -- it was second nature for her, after all, to follow orders and take someone out.

But coming home to Janey, lying night and night again about her current work, was the hardest. Janey was so happy to see her -- so quick to give her affection -- and it makes keeping this secret hard. What would she think? 

She just wants her to be proud ... but who knows if she would be if she admits to working for this new Atlas. It’s not the same as her past jobs, but it’s still something considered dangerous. Not to mention keeping a lie this long ...

“ -- sorry, I’m just not expecting it. ”

Not exactly a lie, considering she finds herself relaxing so easily around Janey. Janey ... well, where does she start? She always makes her feel safe. Home. She’ll have to tell her one day ... but not tonight.
