I'm very glad that a story like "the summer hikaru died" is getting the justice it deserves through it's anime adaptation. Aro/ace queer relationships are really underrepresented in media. I'm happy that mokumokuren hasn't ever sacrificed their vision for the story just to appease fans that wanted a more conventional romantic relationship. There is purposefully no label for their relationship, they just care deeply for each other and I think that's beautiful honestly. I'm excited to see how it paves the way for future horror, and queer stories.
