So, did anyone else want to shake Heath until his teeth rattled, or was that just me? I've been mad at characters before, several times, but it's been a bit since I was this mad at a character. Of course, I loved him to pieces at the same time, so there's that. The last line of the blurb mentions that this is a redeeming love story, and that's 100% accurate. I was rooting so hard for that redemption!I'll leave that right there, so I don't give too much away. The blurb gives us a lot, but there's a whole lot more, and I don't want to spoil it. This is where that last line comes into play again because there are so many hold-your-breath moments in this impossible-to-put-down story. Heath and Atzi have so much chemistry between them, and there's just something special about the love between friends. Even more so when it grows into more, and this pair definitely has more.We also get to visit with some friends from romances past, which is always a treat, and there's even some suspense thrown in, which I didn't expect but enjoyed that edge-of-my-seat addition to the story. If you've never read a Claudia Burgoa romance, you don't know what you're missing. The Way of Us is packed with feels and so many terrific characters. It's a wonderfully written romance done like only Claudia Burgoa can.Take an already great story and put it in the hands of Joe Arden and Janine Granda for some equally great narration. As I mentioned, this one is packed with feels, and every one of them comes through loud and clear. I already loved Joe Arden's swoony voice, but Janine Granda was new to me. She certainly holds her own, and I'll be looking for more from her. So, whether you prefer to read it or listen to it, you can't go wrong with this one.
