Figuring Skating AU - WinterPrince/Jans Moodboard
No, I don’t have a name for this au yet, but it’s the first proper “main story” I’ve ever had for these two. Which is funny, as they’ve been with me almost as long as Hiccanna 🤣 But this might be my most indulgent “I prefer winter for all these tropes and here’s why:”.
Anyways, the story here is: Jack is a talented and overconfident figure skater, which ends up being his undoing when he gets into a bad accident at the biggest competition of his career. A year later, he’s bored out of his mind in his hometown and has been skating at the local rink. Which is where he meets disgraced and under-the-radar Hans Riddle. The two of them decide to team up as a pair to build both their reputations back up. But when Jack’s rival, Elsa, reveals something about Hans’ past, it could destroy this blossoming romance between two “professional” partners.
This idea originally came about as a side plot in my Hiccanna college AU, where they meet at the ice rink while Jack is practicing. But I ended up removing that as Hans is pretty scummy and did something pretty harsh towards Anna that it would make no sense for Jack (a friend of Anna’s and Hiccup’s roommate) to develop feelings for the guy that only dated Anna on a dare despite being gay. But I still liked their meeting, so developed this idea instead.
